If you have inquired about any dog listed on this page and been asked for an "adoption fee" of any kind, that is not clearly stated in the listing, please contact us immediately at web@magsr.org and let us know. As a dog rescue organization, we advocate rescue adoptions only. In Addition, and for the same reasons, we require that all dogs listed on this page be spayed/neutered as a condition of their adoption.
These dogs are not part of the MAGSR program; we have not evaluated any of these dogs. We list them here because they are special and deserve a second look - - and a second chance. For more information on any of these dogs, please contact the listed party, not MAGSR.

Adopting a dog is a lifetime commitment. If you aren't prepared to work with your dog through the adjustment period and beyond, please look no further. If you wont keep your dog if you move or as your family grows, please look no further. If you aren't prepared to nurse your dog back to health if he gets ill or if she needs surgery, please look no further.
Rescue dogs have been through so much - dumped in shelters or found roaming the streets. They have been abandoned, neglected, starved and possibly physically abused. They need TIME, PATIENCE, UNDERSTANDING and LOVE in order to succeed in their new homes. Sometimes it may take several months for a rescue dog to make the adjustment to your home and family. If you aren't 100% committed to making this work with your new dog, then please don't adopt. Any adopter of a rescue dog who has been through the adjustment period can tell you its worth it. No dog is perfect….just like no human is perfect. Please don't expect too much too soon from your new dog.

This is Babee - a big baby is what she is; loving , playful and loves to go for walks. She loves to be rubbed under her neck. When i took Babee to my home she was 8 weeks old. I lived in a big house on a farm she had lots of room to run around. I had to move into a smaller place where I am not able to keep her. I am looking for a loving, caring people or person to take care of Babee.

Mystic is a very sweet girl; she loves playing with sticks and running. around the yard. Although she's 9, she is still extremely playful and energetic. She needs a family with a lot more time to give her the attention she needs. I'm looking for a loving home that will care for her as I have for the past 8 years.

My name is Raven I am a beautiful black shepard. I am 5 years old originally from Florida. You see my family abandoned me and 4 others during the hurricane. I was found by an amazing team called the Guardians of Rescue. I am truly lucky to be alive. I was left crates without food and water and they took me in. They cared for me, I am UTD on all shots and spayed. Is there no one out there that could love me? I love all people and everyone I meet. I have been working with a trainer who think a house with no other dogs or cats would be best. Now, I like cats but he still thinks it best if I am an only child. If you are looking for a single girl to love I am the girl for you. I would like a home where I can take walks and play. A place where I can be loved and treated kindly. Zoe isn’t a bad girl, but she’s in a situation right now that is not bringing out the best in her. She is a Shepherd mix, maybe Dutch Shepherd in the mix.
She needs to be in a home without other dogs and ONLY with adults who are very experienced working with dominant /anxiety defensive dogs, such as dog trainers or K9 officers. NO FIRST TIME DOG OWNERS, please.
We adopted Zoe from our local shelter when she was about 6 months old, and she had been a stray. She has lived with our other three older dogs but no cats. She loves teenaged kids, and also loves to chase squirrels and deer, but is trained to an electronic fence.
Because of her tough beginnings, she has always had fears/anxieties and defensive behavior related to food and attention. One of our GSDs went blind this past year from SARD, and is also mostly deaf, and this has created a big issue for Zoe, who doesn’t understand that she’s not being ignored or challenged by this dog. Zoe now feels she has to dominate the other dogs and even the humans in our house, and despite our best efforts with different dog trainers and a behavioral vet, the best solution is to rehome her where she will not feel this anxiety and fear.
Zoe is healthy, has had a recent exam with normal blood work, is up to date on all vaccinations, receives flea/tick/heartworm meds regularly, is housetrained, walks well on leash, and knows all her obedience commands. She is very smart and learns quickly. She is not high energy, and is happy to lie around the house, but loves to go for walks and car rides. She’s a great girl, but needs a better situation to be happy and have a better life.
