Mica has not had a good life up to this point. She spent all of her time in a crate, most likely having never been outside. She has no idea what a leash is which can make her uneasy. She enjoys human companionship but can become overwhelmed. Mica is a blank slate, she has so much to learn about people and the world. She will need someone with patience to help her build her confidence and to introduce her to the world. She is underweight but with regular, nutritious meals she will be in tiptop shape in no time. Mica deserves the chance to know love, proper care and to just be a puppy....won't you give her that?
Updates:-
Mica was seen by a specialist as we noticed one of her hips was protruding. Sadly, Mica sustained trauma prior to coming into our care and the hip did not heal properly. She will require FHO surgery in order to correct the hip, for which MAGSR will pay. Some good new is, her other hip is just fine.

Georgia made her way to us from a shelter. She is good with other dogs and has been friendly with those she has met. She is young and has had no training or guidance, it will be important that her new family set boundaries for her and gets her into a good training program. Having a well mannered, socialized dog is crucial and training will help with this.

Zeus came to us with his mate Zoey, they are a bonded pair and we are hoping that a family has enough room in their hearts and homes for both of them.
They are a wonderful pair who enjoy each others company.
They do require training which will help with their leash skills, it is obvious they have not been taught much.
They have been friendly with all of those they have met.
Updates:-
Zeus and Zoey recently went into a foster home and have adapted quickly to their new surroundings. They are foster's constant shadows following her everywhere she goes. Zeus tends to be a little weary of strangers from a distance but once given the opportunity to meet them he warms up quickly. Zoey seems to be a bit more confident then Zeus and he looks to her often when he feels unsure of himself. Both Zeus and Zoey have the protective nature innate in GSD and are extremely affectionate and loyal with those they trust. They would like to be lap dogs but unfortunately they are just a little too big for that.

Zeus and Zoey love to play fetch but only Zoey will drop the ball for you so you can continue playing, Zeus on the other hand runs around with the ball in his mouth playing keep away from Zoey. Both enjoy chasing each other, but watch out that they may run into you and knock you over when they are going at full speed. For this reason, it maybe better for them to be in a home with older kids. Zoey is a fan of all toys that squeak and Zeus prefers the non squeaky toys so that works out well when it come to sharing toys. Both dogs are crate trained and crated when their foster is not home and have had no issues or accidents in the home - they are both wonderful and respectful house guests.

Zeus and Zoey are in need of training, and need more work on leash manners and learning not to jump on people or furniture. Training will also help to build their confidence and stimulate them mentally and physically. Zoey rides very nicely in the car and Zeus is a bit anxious and would prefer to be shotgun so his foster mom is working on that. One time when Zeus was feeling particularly anxious in the car, Zoey hopped over the seat to lick his face and comfort him. Zoey is the top dog and Zeus respects that. Zeus and Zoey really get along very nicely and just like any other dogs, occasionally have a spat but get over it quickly. We are trying very hard to keep them together but may consider separating them if there is not interest in both dogs. Please ask to meet Zeus and Zoey.

Sweet Kucua came to MAGSR underweight and from a very sad situation. Kucua previously lived in a hoarding situation with 14 other dogs. Kucua was underfed and used for breeding. Because of all that Kucua has endured, she is confused and just needs to learn to trust and know she'll be well taken care of. Now that MAGSR has Kucua, we hope she will quickly adjust and learn that she will receive regular meals, attention, and proper socialization. If Kucua sounds like the right dog for your household, please ask about her today.
Care for these hoarding rescues is putting a severe strain on MAGSR's resources. Donations towards their treatment would be greatly appreciated, this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs.
Updates:-
Kucua is settling nicely into her foster home. Her foster family reports she is a sweet, happy & fun loving girl. When her foster family brought her home, she was shy, unsure of herself and wanted nothing more to do than hide in a corner - it appeared she had never been in a home before and was never shown any affection, as everything about home life seemed new to her. Since arriving, she has made a complete turn around and now she likes to follow her foster mom & dad around the house. Kucua will shower you with kisses and crawl into your lap if you let her. She is improving with her leash manners, but still needs to work on obedience commands. Kucua will really shine with a new family when she adjusts to living in a home, with patient and affectionate humans, where she does not live in fear. Kucua is a wonderful dog and would make a great family pet. If she sounds like a good fit for your family, please ask to meet her.

Updates:- <div class="gmail_default" style="font-family: "trebuchet ms",sans-serif;">Diamond has settled in nicely to her foster home and is hoping for a forever family to come calling soon. Diamond adores her daily walks, as well as just hanging at home with her pack, whether they be animal or human. She is fully housebroken, crate trained, and learning her basic commands. She is food motivated and takes food and treats gently, which helps training go well. All Diamond's wounds from her previous life are healing well, her skinny frame is beginning to fill in, and her coat is starting to shine again. She's come a long way in just a few short weeks, and can't wait to get a forever family of her own.

Ash was surrendered to us through no fault of his own. He was not abused or neglected. But unfortunately, his former person was not able to handle such a large dog. He has had no formal training and will only be placed with an experienced handler. He would benefit from being in a home where he will have daily activity, exercise and structure along with obedience training. He is looking for a commitment for his lifetime....could that be you?

Fox along with his mate Xilli were surrendered to us as their family was moving where dogs are not welcomed. They have lived together for most of their lives and we would like to find them a home together. Both are sweet, well mannered, laid back dogs. No more puppy mannerisms for these two distinguished Shepherds, they are looking for leisurely walks, hanging out with their people and enjoying the comforts of a nice bed. They lived in a home with 10 children of varying ages. They want nothing more than to have a home and family of their very own, hopefully together. If you have enough room in your hearts and home for both Fox and Xilli please ask to meet them.

Rommie made her to way us as a stray to a shelter. The shelter's worker said she is very sweet and did not have any accidents in her kennel. She would happily wait for them to come take her outside to go the bathroom. She is a beautiful GSD mix who is looking for a family that will love and care for her for her lifetime.
Updates:-
Rommie is settling nicely in to her foster home. Rommie's foster parents report she does great with the resident dogs, is a beautiful girl, very sweet and extremely loving dog who has lots of energy and loves her squeaky balls. She is so soft and so loving that she will make someone a great companion dog. In her foster home, she is working on crate training so she's ready for her new family.

Sadly, sweet Rommie tested heartworm positive when she was seen by a MAGSR vet, she obviously was not kept on monthly Heartworms Preventatives which would have protected her. She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment to rid her body of Heartworms so that she may enjoy many more years of life. Treatment is expensive but Rommie is certainly worth the cost. Donations towards her treatment would be greatly appreciated, this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs.

Rommie is waiting for her fur-ever family, so if you think she could be a good fit, please ask to meet her.

Now that MAGSR has Electra, we hope she will quickly adjust and learn that she will receive regular meals, attention, and proper socialization. If Electra sounds like the right dog for your household, please ask about her today.
Care for these hoarding rescues is putting a severe strain on MAGSR's resources. Donations towards their treatment would be greatly appreciated, this would also help us save other dogs with medical needs.
