Abby
Abby and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Abby is a test dog. This is a test of the updated editor
Here's another test
Angel
Angel and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Angel was surrendered as a family member had allergies. She is a friendly, well mannered girl. She lived with children and does well with large dogs, she does not do well with small dogs. Of course training with her new family is needed, as it will help you both learn more about each other and create a bond. She is housebroken and crate trained.
Bella
Bella and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Beautiful Bella found herself at a shelter, she is now with us looking for a cat free home. Bella enjoys chasing and pawing at cats so she will not be suited for a home with cats. She did well with dogs she was introduced to for dog on dog evaluation. Of course, one of the most important things any dog requires is training and Bella is no exception. With her smarts and eagerness to learn she should be the star of the class.
Benny
Benny and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Benny is a test dog
Bently
Bently and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Bentley is a handsome Shepherd mix. He is a fun dog that enjoys running around and playing. He does have some training, but will require more training with his new family. Training helps both the dog and humans learn more about each other, work better together and creates a bond.
Berl
Berl and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Berlioz (Berl) came to us from a shelter where he was taken after his family moved. In his previous home he lived with children and another dog. Berl has a lot of energy, nothing that a good run, playtime or a long walk won't help. He does need training as it is obvious his previous family did not spend any time teaching good manners. He is very friendly with everyone he meets, quite the love bug.
Update: Berl is only a couple days in with his fosters and is acclimating well. They are working on housebreaking with him and he's getting along very nicely with the resident female dog - they play a lot. Berl has endless energy and love to bury his head into his human when he's getting some affection. One thing about Berl, that we won't tell him, is that he snores some .. it'll be our secret. If Berl, the energetic, playful and affectionate boy, sounds like a good fit for you, please ask to meet him today.Update: Berl has made much success in the housebreaking area after his first 24 hours in the house - he's a smart boy and quick learner. Berl met the resident grandchildren this week and he loved them as much as they loved him. Berl is crate trained and enjoys taking breaks in his crate. Berl knows his place with the resident female GSD and has accepted it - has also adapted very well to her level of play - where you find one of them, the other isn't too far away. The latest information from the foster is that Berl is very respectful but just had to crawl up to his foster parents and cuddle with them in bed - which he's also pretty awesome at. Berl is one awesome character and special boy. Ask to meet him today.
Bo
Bo and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Bo came to us from a shelter, so we have no history on him. He can be picky about his dog friends and may do best as an only dog or with female dogs. Training of course will go a long way helping Bo settle in, learn some manners and how to properly interact with other dogs. With people he is very friendly, although we do not know how he is with children at this time.
Crimson
Crimson and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Lovely Crimson was a stray who fortunately got picked up by a good samaritan and brought to a shelter. Once there, she waited patiently for a family of her very own. Unfortunately, no one came for Crimson. When contacted by another rescue to bring Crimson in, MAGSR stepped up.
Crimson is a beautiful and intelligent girl. She gains confidence from a calm and stable handler. Crimson, like all dogs, will benefit greatly from training as it will help her develop into a good canine citizen. At the same time training will also help Crimson bond to her new family. As Crimson is new to the rescue, we are still getting to know her. Please stay tuned for more updates.
Update: Lovely Crimson arrived in MAGSR’s care with some medical concerns that warranted immediate support. Unsure what was causing continuous gastro-intestinal issues, MAGSR was fortunate to have Crimson's primary vet and internal medicine specialist collaborate to determine best practices to meet her specific medical needs. This process has taken several months as Crimson's amazing team worked through options, medications, dietary changes, and procedures. It has been determined that Crimson has megacolon, which can be best described as chronic constipation. As her colon is unable to efficiently remove the waste from her body, Crimson suffers from involuntary bowel movements. This can be uncomfortable as Crimson's bowel movements are directly linked to when her colon is overfull which forces the excess waste to overflow in order to release the pressure on her colon. If not kept clean, Crimson's back-end can become inflamed. Although she is able to produce some formed stool, Crimson does have residual leakage. She does have full control over her bladder and is able to wait to urinate until outside. In order to provide Crimson with some relief, she is on a prescription food with medication that is administered three times a day. Although this has reduced her symptoms a bit, unfortunately, this is not a cure all for Crimson's condition. Looking for all possible solutions for this sweet girl, MAGSR began working with surgical specialists to see if Crimson was a potential candidate. The hope was to provide her with a surgical option that would bypass her colon. Unfortunately, after meeting with specialists, they determined that due to the loss of muscle control in her backend a surgical option would not be successful. Crimson will always be a dog with medical needs. Crimson is looking for a very special forever family. This exceptional household will need to administer Crimson's medication three times a day, provide daily cleaning of her back-end for sanitary purposes, and bathe her at least two times a week. Due to her specific medical needs, it is recommended that Crimson's household be carpet free or that she be contained to a few rooms that lack carpet as she is simply unable to control her bowel movements and will have accidents. Ideally, Crimson is looking for a safe and loving home that can provide her with attention, affection, and a supply of comfortable blankets to lay on that can be easily laundered. Crimson is a happy and loving dog. Her unique condition is not painful as long as she is provided with adequate care and kept clean. This lovely lady clearly loves life and is desperate for a family to call her very own. A big fan of people, the outside, and snow, Crimson's adorable personality quickly wins over everyone around her. As she is all about being the apple of your eye, Crimson would be most successful in a household where she can be the only dog. If your household is ready to love and support this sweet girl, please ask to meet her today.Grayson
Grayson and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Grayson was picked up as a stray and taken a shelter. The owners were contacted but they never picked him up. Grayson is now in our care looking for his forever family. Grayson is a big, strong boy who has had no training and no leash manners. He was introduced to other dogs at the shelter and did fine, he was also introduced to cats and showed no interest. Grayson will benefit greatly from obedience training and structure. He has a lot to learn but, once taught, he will be a well mannered boy.
Hamara
Hamara and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Hamara cannot be any cuter and is absolutely a great little girl, happy go lucky and loves to give puppy kisses. Hamara has a lot to learn about going a good canine citizen and will require training. Please remember that puppies are a lot of work and require a lot of attention from their family - puppies are a ten to twelve year commitment. Puppies are full of energy and can be mischievous – they will whine, have accidents, get into things, and chew on inappropriate things. With time, patience, guidance and training, Hamara will become even more of an amazing girl than she already is. If interested and she sounds like a good match for your family, please submit an adoption application!
Harmony
Harmony and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Harmony was found as a stray and ended up in a shelter. She is missing a rear paw which appears to be from an old injury. This does not slow her down, she can run and play as well as any 4 pawed dog. She is friendly and very much enjoys a good belly rub. Harmony will need training to help her overcome her dislike of vacuums, hairdryers, etc. This can be easily dealt with by putting her away when these items are in use and of course ongoing training. Harmony will make a loving companion for a very lucky family.
Update:
Sweet Miss Harmony is a friendly little cuddle bug.

Though she is small, she is mighty… Cute. If you're looking for a dog to guard your home, keep looking. Harmony greets everyone she sees with her belly exposed ready for rubs and snuggles.

She is doing well in her foster home. She enjoys attention from children and is getting along with the resident dog. She established boundaries with him letting him know that she doesn't like to roughhouse. Harmony would happily live with another dog but she would be just as happy to be an only dog. She is looking for somewhere that she can be spoiled rotten.

Harmony would not do well in a home with cats. She has a strong prey drive and cats are just way too much fun. She also likes chasing animals when she is outside. Even though she small she can create a significant impact at the end of her leash when she sees a squirrel. So it's important to always be on the lookout and have a good grasp on her leash.
Update:
Harmony is learning to respond to her name. She does not come when she's called yet. However once you have her attention she has learned how to sit. She also understands to come and drop it but she does not consistently follow it, yet. Harmony is doing very well with housebreaking her last accident was at the door where we leave to go for walks. So she has figured it out.

Harmony does not mind being crated during the day while the family is at work/school. She even goes in her crate from time to time when people are home to relax. She would prefer to go to a home where somebody lets her sleep on a dog bed on the floor in their room.

Harmony is missing a hind paw for reasons that are unknown to us. However, she has no trouble walking, running, climbing steps, navigating tree branches etc. on a walk. In fact, we're pretty sure Harmony doesn't know her paw is missing. So please don't tell her when you meet her.

Haus
Haus and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Haus came to us from us a shelter where he ended up as a stray. He is a big handsome boy weighing in at 89 lbs and could use to put on another 10 lbs or so. He is a loving foster home settling in nicely and enjoying his time with the resident dog. He is a big friendly boy who is looking for a family to take him to training, provide daily exercise and proper care for his lifetime.
Update:
I’m doing great at my fosters house. I’m house broken, I know sit, down, shake, bed and working on stay. I walk nicely on a leash and like jogging with my foster mom. I like kids but sometimes I can play a little rough so a home with older kids would be nice. I like to play fetch and I play nicely with my foster brother. I’m good at being loose in the house and with being crated. I don’t bark much (literally 5 time in 2 weeks) and when I doing it’s because a cat walks by the house. I’m very sweet and if you think I’m cute I’d love to meet you!
Juliet
Juliet and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Juliet ended up in a shelter with Romeo, we are not sure if they are related but it does seem as though they have lived their lives together as they are bonded. Juliet is a smaller framed girl and she is underweight. Romeo and Juliet play nicely together and seem to enjoy each others company.
Update:
Both Romeo & Juliet are putting on weight nicely and they love doggie snacks. Both are learning manners at meal time, to sit while the food is being placed and to not to eat out of each others bowls when they are done. Romeo & Juliet are housebroken and crate trained and have great manners in the home. They enjoy quiet times and taking naps and they do not bother each other when they go into their open crates to rest. Romeo and Juliet want to please their human so much and respond quickly to voice commands and praise. They know basic commands; sit, stay, no, come, good boy/girl. Playing together is especially fun for them and for their foster humans to watch - they love to romp and roll each other, both are extremely playful with a good energy level. They both are extremely loving and need their snuggle/tummy rub time. When they are tired they just want to lay at your feet and nap. If this sounds like the right bonded pair for you, please ask to meet them today.
Karmela
Karmela and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Karmela did have a home and family of her own until one day they dumped her a shelter. We know that in her previous home she lived with children and other dogs. She is a calm, well mannered girl who would enjoy spending time with her family. Karmela had an ear infection that was left untreated which caused her ear to crumple, she is currently under the care of our vet. If you are looking for a dog that is more grounded and past the juvenile antics Karmela is your girl.
Update:
Karmela is settling in to her foster home just great! She made herself right at home with her foster family and the resident dog. Karmela went to the vet for a check up and to have her ears checked. Both ears had infections so they cleaned them out really good and sent her home with medications to help get them all better. Karmela is extremely sweet and a great listener. She knows some basic commands like “sit” and “come” and we are working very hard on other commands as well. She walks very nicely on a leash and loves to play fetch. She is crate trained, house broken and loves kids. Ask to meet Karmela today!
Update:
I’m doing great at my fosters house. They’re teaching me how to be a good dog for my new family. I have learned sit, come, down and I’m working on stay. I love going on walks with them and their dog. I absolutely love kids! I love them more the adults and would love a family with kids. I love playing with tennis balls and I’m really good at playing fetch. I also love to just chill with you on the couch and cuddle. Ask to meet me today!

Kenya
Kenya and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Kenya was adopted from our rescue when she was just a puppy in 2006. Sadly her adopter, due to personal reasons, is no longer able to care for her. As you can imagine Kenya's world as she knew it has been turned upside down. She is currently in a loving foster home with her foster family helping her with the adjustment. She is anxious , eating very little and obviously does not understand what is going on or where her family is.
Don't try to tell this senior to slow down; Kenya is quite athletic and runs and plays just fine, thank you very much! Kenya loves to go for car rides and long walks with her foster family, as well as snuggling up for head rubs. She has settled into her foster home nicely, also enjoying naps on her dog bed, hanging out with her foster siblings, and taking her chew bones wherever she goes. This affectionate lady walks well on leash and knows her basic commands. If you would like to meet Kenya, please contact our Adoptions Coordinator for more information.
Kovu
Kovu and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Kovu has not had much stability in his life, he has had 3 families before coming into our care. His last person realized that he needed more than she could provide in the way of training and knew that he needed an experienced family to help him adjust to a new life. Kovu has not been well socialized or provided with proper training. He can be protective of his person if he feels you are not in control. He will bark at people he doesn't know, but takes correction and redirection well. He needs slower introductions to new people, dogs and situations in order for him to feel comfortable. Training is an absolute must for Kovu and his new family as this will help everyone learn more about Kovu and get him on the right track. Kovu will only meet those with a lot of experience with the breed and are strong, knowledgeable handlers. Kovu needs someone who is going to commit to him, provide him with direction and consistency in his life. Our volunteers are working with him, he learns quickly.
Riana
Riana and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Riana ran out in the road in the dark of night almost being hit. Luckily the person driving saw her then decided to follow her to try to catch her. Riana ran to a driveway which was her home. The owner came out and said he did not want her and surrendered on the spot. She is a typical young dog, full of energy, has no manners and has a lot to learn. She is in a foster home learning some manners. Training of course is needed, which her new family will have to commit to. Please be sure you are up to the challenges that come with raising a young dog, they are a commitment for their lifetime and require time and patience.
Riptide
Riptide and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Riptide was originally adopted from a shelter, where he then went on to live his life on a chain with not enough food and no shelter. This is why it is so important that anyone wanting to adopt a dog is checked out by shelters and rescues. Riptide was promised a better a life when the shelter adopted him but that is not what he received. That is all changed now that he is with MAGSR, we will make sure he finds a loving and caring family, that can provide him a home, a comfy bed, good nutrition and care. Riptide's name is very fitting, he is a high energy boy that is not sure what to do with new found freedom from the chain. He will need training and structure, along with lots of exercise.
Romeo

Romeo ended up in a shelter with Juliet, we are not sure if they are related but it does seem as though they have lived their lives together as they are bonded. Romeo and Juliet play nicely together and seem to enjoy each others company.

Sadie and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Sadly Sadie recently lost her human dad as he unexpectedly passed away and her human mom is disabled and hospitalized. As you can imagine Sadie is quite confused as to why she is not with her family, in a strange place with people she does know. We are giving her time to settle in and adjust to her new surroundings. She has been skittish with us but once she is comfortable with our volunteers she comes out of her shell and enjoys romping around. Sadie would do best in a home that is not very busy as she is somewhat of a flight risk as she continues to look for her family. With time and patience she will overcome this and become bonded to her new family.
Sapphire
Sapphire and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Sapphire made her way to us from a shelter where she had been surrendered by her former owners. They had told the shelter that she was good with children, dogs and cats. She is in a foster living with young children and another GSD and getting along well. We have not had her around cats. She is a young, energetic girl that has had no training or guidance. She's very trainable, she pays attention to her handler and is responsive to both food and praise. A good training program, guidance from her family and exercise to burn off some that puppy energy are in order for beautiful Sapphire.
Sarge
Sarge and MAGSR thank these Sponsors for their generous support:
Hi friends, my name is Sarge and I am interviewing prosepctive forever families. Let me explain my situation and get you up to speed. I managed to get myself in quite a pickle as I landed myself in local shelter as a stray. I am not really sure what a stray is but I will figure that out later. The accommodations were not bad. They were really nice to me and I did get a warm bed and two squares a day! It was kind of rough though because I was use to em... certain luxeries. I was at this place for about a month when they told me my foster family was coming to pick me up and bring me home! They are amazing and I am really living it up here wth them but foster mean temporary until my perfect home presents itself. They told me I can stay as long as I need to which makes me so happy. I even heard them say they were taking me to acupuncture this weekend so I am hoping that is some sort of massage and they provide treats! I will update later on how that goes.. So dont worry, I am in a good place as I interview
So back to my requirements.. you know a senior gentleman has certain needs and things we become accustomed to. I like a soft orthopedic bed with a blanky, I demand regular head and belly scratches, and daily treats. And let's be clear, I DONT enjoy steps and can only get up or down one or two steps because I sustained a bad pelvic injury in my younger days that never healed correctly so I only get around on three legs. My back leg is pretty useless although it does help to steady me when begging at the table... I have learned to compensate for my injury and do still enjoy playing and romping in the yard. My new family will need to provide some pain meds and supplements to help keep me as pain free as possible. Here is a positive.. I am totally house broken but do require to be let out every few hours as in my old age I just can't hold it as long as when I was a young buck.. My favorite past time aside from eating is sleeping because don't forget I am a senior boy and require several naps.. I am the most laid back guy that you will ever meet! I like my doggie friends big and small! I am just an all around great companion and just want a person to call my own. I will follow you around and lay at your feet! If you feel you could be my forever family and provide for my senior needs please apply above! Love Sarge
